Dugong (Sea cow)
Dugong nicknamed as sea cow is a marine mammal that belongs to the biological order Sirenia, and is only one among 4 other extant species that lives exclusively in salt waters.
Since it's diet mainly consists of seagrass it is referred to as the seacow.
Apart from these island waters dugongs can be spotted off coast of Tamil Nadu in the Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay.
Dugong creek in Little Andaman is where it is mostly found.
These are slow breeding and are critically endangered in India.

Andaman wood pigeon
It is an endemic bird living in the dense evergreen forests. It is a wild food eating pigeon.
Reddish bill with yellow tip and purplish red ring like coloured skin around eyes is it's characteristic feature.

The tree has beautiful lilac coloured flower and is very common in these islands.
Its flowers are produced in pyramidal shape.

Padauk tree
It is also called Redwood tree. The bark is of medicinal uses and wood is of high quality. Bur and butresses add charm to the tree. The flowers bloom through May - July.
